Since the 18th, the Israeli military has resumed large-scale military attacks on the Gaza Strip, causing serious casualties and putting enormous pressure on Gaza's medical system. The Shifa Hospital, which was once destroyed by the Israeli army, currently only has an emergency department in operation and has received over 150 injured people, most of whom are seriously injured. Due to limited medical resources, providing services is fraught with difficulties. Medical staff are busy running around in the hospital corridor, doctors are providing emergency treatment under extreme conditions, and the wounded are waiting in pain on their beds. The family members of the injured claimed that there was no ambulance available and could only carry the injured person for medical treatment on their own, and waited for more than 10 hours before entering the operating room. The injured Bader has been waiting for surgery since early, but due to overcrowding in the hospital, the surgery has been postponed and he is also facing the dilemma of no medication or treatment.
Under the long-term blockade and attacks by the Israeli military, the medical system in Gaza is on the brink of collapse. Out of the 53 ambulances operated by the Palestinian Red Cross, only 23 were barely usable. Hospitals suffer from a severe lack of basic equipment and drugs, resulting in a significant decline in treatment capabilities. Many injured individuals are waiting to die in hospital beds. The medical director of Xifa Hospital stated that the hospital only has two operating rooms and has been consistently prioritizing the treatment of critically ill patients. Health officials in the Gaza Strip have stated that hospitals are facing a huge crisis, with a large influx of casualties causing chaos, over 80% of medical supplies lacking, and over 60% of essential medicines unable to be supplied.
