On March 28th local time, the South Korean Forest Agency and the Central Disaster Safety Countermeasure Headquarters successively issued notices updating the situation of large-scale forest fires that continue to ravage areas such as Gyeongsang do.

Although some areas where wildfires occurred received a small amount of precipitation from the evening of the 27th to the early morning of the 28th, as of 5:00 am on the 28th, there were still six wildfires continuing to burn. In addition, the large-scale wildfire has forced 33000 residents to be urgently evacuated, and as of now, more than 8000 disaster victims are unable to return home. At the same time, 23 Korean national heritage sites were burned down by wildfires, and 3481 homes, factories, facilities, etc. were also destroyed by wildfires. Among them, the Gyeongsangbuk do area suffered the most losses, reaching 2296.
