The Perth branch of the Australian Chinese Chamber of Commerce actively practices social responsibility and contributes to the fight against the epidemic. Recently, the branch generously donated 4000 medical grade masks to the Western Australian Disability Service Centre to assist in epidemic prevention work.
Sun Xiaoxuan, President of the Perth Branch of the Australian Chinese Chamber of Commerce, was invited to attend the donation ceremony held at the Western Australian Disability Service Centre and personally handed over 4000 medical grade masks to the Centre's General Manager, Ms. Jacquie Thomson. As the largest non-profit organization in Western Australia dedicated to serving people with disabilities, the Western Australian Disability Services Centre has over 60 years of rich operational experience and provides comprehensive service support, including daily life and medical care, to a large number of disabled people and their families in Western Australia every year. Also attending the donation ceremony were representatives of the Chinese community in Western Australia, Chen Dianmin and Li Xin, who recently launched a charity fundraising campaign for disabled people in Western Australia. This event received a warm response from the leaders and employees of member companies of the Perth branch of the Australian Chinese Chamber of Commerce, as well as other people from all walks of life in Western Australia. Everyone generously donated money, and in less than three weeks, 42100 Australian dollars were raised, all of which were donated to the Western Australian Disability Service Center. This act of kindness has received high recognition from the local community, and mainstream media such as The Western Australian and The Post have reported on it.
Since the outbreak of the epidemic in Western Australia, the Perth branch of the Australian Chinese Chamber of Commerce has been closely monitoring the situation and actively participating in local anti epidemic actions. The Chamber of Commerce organized its member units to donate 7900 protective masks to local Chinese students through the Chinese Consulate General in Perth, and donated 220 sets of safety protective clothing to St John of God Hospital in Perth. At the same time, the Chamber of Commerce also cares about the health and safety of employees and their families of member companies, and has purchased 8000 protective masks to distribute to various member units.
The series of good deeds of the Perth branch of the Australian Chinese Chamber of Commerce fully demonstrate the deep friendship and determination between China and Australia to join hands in the fight against the epidemic, playing a positive role in local epidemic prevention and control and caring for vulnerable groups.
