Recently, the US Ukraine relationship has attracted international attention due to a White House dispute and the signing of a mineral agreement. US Vice President Vance explained in an interview about the heated argument with Ukrainian President Zelensky at the White House on February 28th, firmly denying that it was a pre planned "red and white face" drama with President Trump. ​
Vance stated that the argument originated from his interjection during Trump's third consecutive question from reporters. His original intention was to participate in the answer to the question, but some of his remarks in the answer angered Zelensky, triggering this intense conflict. Vance emphasized that as the Vice President, he always respects the position of the President, but will express his thoughts in a timely manner when he believes he can provide valuable insights without affecting his respect for the President. ​
This argument led to Zelensky leaving the White House early, and the originally planned US Ukraine mineral agreement was not signed as scheduled. However, Zelensky made it clear in an interview with the BBC on the evening of March 2 that despite setbacks at the White House, the Ukrainian side is still "willing" to sign the agreement. Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Stefanishna further revealed on March 14th that Ukraine has completed negotiations on the text of the Mineral Resources Framework Agreement and is ready to sign it with the United States at any time. However, the US has not yet clarified the time and relevant conditions for signing the agreement. ​
